Janis K. Smith,

Marion: Age 67, died June 5, 2015 at her home in Marion NY, from complications arising from dementia.  Ms. Smith was born July 31, 1947 in Oak Park, Illinois.  She was the oldest of three children born to Ethel and Ed Kraft.  Janis graduated from Libertyville, IL high school in 1965.

Janis moved to the Rochester NY area around 1970 and began her career with the National Technical Institute for the Deaf within the Rochester Institute of Technology.  In 1985, she moved on to create her own business, Exact-Type Medical Transcription Services.

Loving wife, mother and very special friend to many, Janis is survived by her spouse Albert, their two children Jessica and Bryan and grandchildren Alexis and Mason Curran.  She is also survived by her step-children Scott and Leigh Ann Smith and Adam and Hye-Jin Nae Smith.  Step-grandchildren include Alex, Zachery, and Yuna Smith.
