Jean  O'Leary

Farmington/Maybrook: Passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the age of 79.  Jean was born on September 18, 1934 to John and Virginia Geier in New York City, NY.  She has been a resident of Farmington, NY for the past 12 years.  Jean was predeceased by her husband Jeremiah O'Leary on May 10, 1992.  She is survived by her children, Jeremiah O'Leary, Lorraine (Kevin) Greany, Audrey Denihan and Tim (Valerie) O'Leary; 10 grandchildren, Jillian (Chris), Kyle (Tara) Brett, Chyme, Kevin, Kelli, Stephen, Brittany, Robert and Ryan; 3 great-grandchildren, Breanna, River and Kiera; brother, John (Connie) Geier; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jean lived for many years in the New York City area, including Maybrook with her daughter Lorraine and most recently in Farmington with her son Tim.  She enjoyed doing all types of crafts and was an avid reader; her favorite author was Danielle Steel.  She was a former member of the Maybrook Seniors and was active with the Red Hat Society.  Although Jean was never comfortable with traveling, by car or airplane, she took a trip out West.  During her visit Jean had the opportunity to visit some family and friends and took in some new areas, such as Arizona and California.  She really enjoyed herself on that journey.

Friends are invited to join the family on Monday (June 30) from 4-7 PM at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY, where her funeral services will be held at 7 PM, immediately following the visitation.  Interment will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.  Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in Jean's memory.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com .
