Jean E. Rugg

Geneva:  Passed away at Community Hospital in Syracuse on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the age of 77.  She was born on July 25, 1945 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse to the late Royal and Marion "Alpeter" Pilbeam.  Predeceased by husband Raymond A. Rugg, Sr., son Justian Rugg; granddaughters Stephanie Miller and Andrea Rugg. She is survived by her children, Marie (Pete Crespo) Stivers, Patty Artley, David Daggett,  her extended children, Starr (Elwood) Balliet, Ray Rugg, Jr., Miles (Donna) Rugg, Keith (Maria) Rugg, Lennie (Donna) Rugg, Regina (Sam Oswald) Rugg, Kittie Palmer, Nettie (Scott Grant) Rugg; brother Richard (Tammy) Pilbeam; sister Ruth Hill,31 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren.

Jean married Raymond Rugg on April 14, 1974. Jean was of old fashioned values. Family was of utmost importance to her. Jean can be described as loving, caring and strong willed. She was a longtime caregiver for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She retired as a stocker with Walmart. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing card games (win, or lose) and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 11AM to 1PM where a celebration of life service will immediately follow visitation, at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 State Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502.  Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband Raymond, at the South Perinton Cemetery, in the Spring of 2023.  Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation, in memory of Jean, to your favorite charity.
