Manchester – Joanne passed away on April 23, 2024 at age 92.  She was born in Rochester, NY to the late George and L. Catherine (Speckman) Brauch. Joanne was also predeceased by her siblings, George F. Brauch and Lois Butler, and  grandson, AJ Exton.

Joanne is survived by her children, Catherine Exton, Christine (Dick) Roets, Albert J. (Ann Knigge) Buckner, and Carolyn Overton; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

She was an avid animal lover and all of them her pets. From an African bird to Billy goats with horns. She always had a dog, at least two cats, many from shelters, in the house throughout her life, each became her "favorite" pet animal. She rode and owned horses throughout her life from her young teenage years until the end of her life.  Her favorite riding horse was Sheena. Her last two surviving horses became her best friends and largest pets.

She worked at the Newark Telephone company for several years, owned the West End Bar and grill in Manchester for a short time, and retired from Northstar Bank working as a customer service representative in Pittsford. She volunteered at Clifton Spring Hospital, Ontario Board of election, and many other locations.

All services will be private.  Joanne will privately be laid to rest in Palmyra Village Cemetery.  Contributions in memory of Joanne may be directed to Ontario County Humane Society (Happy Tails), 2976 Co. Rd. 48, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
