Josephine T. Spanganberg, 91, of Palmyra, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Jo, daughter of Antoinette and Rocco Toce, was born and raised in Hartford, Conn. Her first husband, Paul I. Cherry, Jr, predeceased her in November 1978. They managed and owned the Ben Franklin Store in Palmyra during the 1960's and 70's. In 1984, Jo married her second husband, Gerald E. Spanganberg, Sr., who predeceased her in April 2018.

Throughout her life, Jo possessed a great passion for music and loved to sing, dance, and play the piano. She also enjoyed many hobbies including crocheting, creating beaded jewelry, and flower arranging. Jo was a very bright soul in this world. All her life, she always put others' wants and needs before her own.

Jo is survived by her daughter Marie (Cherry) Ivaskewitz; step-children Sandy (Spanganberg) Bastian, Jerry Spanganberg, Bobby Spanganberg; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
