Newton, Joyce Helen

Ontario:  Beloved sister, Joyce Helen Newton, born on August 5, 1943 to the late Ralph and Bertha (DeDoelder) Newton, went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2015 at the age of 71 after a short battle with cancer.  She is survived by two sisters, Karen A. (Stephen) Moser, and Charlene L. McAuliff; brother Edwin R. Newton; four nieces, two nephews, five great nieces and seven great nephews, extended family and friends.

A life that touched so many will be sorely missed by all, but we know we will be reunited again in God's perfect timing.  Joyce had a long career working in the political arena.  She worked for Congressman Frank Horton, and John Conlan before going to work for the Department of Budget and Finance.  She spent the last 24 years of her career working for Senator Orrin Hatch.  Joyce enjoyed music and art; especially  painting.  She never passed up the opportunity to experience a meal out with family, or friends, as she truly enjoyed going out to eat. Her faith was important to her and she felt fortunate to have had the opportunity to celebrate her religion with various clergy and places of worship.  She and her family are thankful for having been blessed with meeting Rev. Susan Shafer.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.  Her funeral service will be offered on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:30AM at the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, Marsh Road, Pittsford, where her interment will follow.  Memorials in memory of Joyce may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14607.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com
