IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen E.
Hamms
March 31, 1957 – September 25, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen (Kelly) (Mangiamele) Hamms, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all those whose lives she touched. She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Palmyra, New York on September 25, 2024, at the age of 67.
"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay there forever." - A.A. Milne; Winnie the Pooh
Born in Rochester, New York to Beverly and Richard Kelly, Kathy grew up in Macedon with her five brothers and sisters. Kathy worked various jobs throughout her life: construction crew worker, teachers aid, CNA, and most recently caring for her three grandchildren; but her passion was making chocolates and baking. Anyone that ever had anything she made can attest to how talented she was, and she was always sure to share her treats with everyone she met. Kathy was also an avid crafter and a prolific reader.
Kathy's most favorite names were "Mom" and "Grandma". She was a loving mother and grandmother to her three children and three grandchildren. To say that we will miss her is a great understatement, as Kathy was compassionate and caring to a fault.
Kathy is predeceased by her mother and father, Richard (Dick) Kelly and Beverly (Bev) Kelly. She is survived by her three children, Ryanne (Mangiamele) Close (Jeff), James Mangiamele, and Nicholas Mangiamele (Caitlin); her grandchildren, Jacob Close, Nathan Close, and Avery Close; her siblings, Gary Kelly, Peggy MaGee, Becki Kelly, Danny Kelly (Peggy), and Maureen Graham (Scott); along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Please join Kathy's family for a graveside service on Friday, October 4 at 2:00pm at the Macedon Village Cemetery (Erie Street Road, Macedon, NY). A celebration of life for Kathy will take place on Friday, October 4 at 3:00pm at the American Legion in Shortsville, NY (1513 Palmyra Street, Shortsville, NY 14548).
