Kathryn Ann Yates (Aprile) 87, Leicester/Geneseo: Beloved mom, grandma, great grandma, and friend passed peacefully on 3/31/23 at Highland Hospital holding her daughter's hand.

She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore, son, Henry, and granddaughter, Sara.

She is survived by her children, Fred Yates (Jeanie) of Geneseo,

Stan Yates (Donna) of Henrietta, Sherman Yates (Margaret) of Palmyra, and Aprile Peffers (Jack) of Leicester; grandchildren, Tara Yates (Shannon) Megan Yates, Brandon Yates (Alyssa), Freddy Yates, Justine Yates, Katie Ingalls (Zach), Emily Loverdi (Brian), Freddie Ingalls (Nickie), Brook Sturrock (Drew), Jaden Mercer, Kaylen Peffers (Merideth), and Saraya Peffers; several wonderful great grandchildren.

Kathryn was born on October 29, 1935 in Warsaw, New York. She was the daughter of Anthony and Dora Aprile of Geneseo. Kathryn was employed as an operator for Rochester telephone and enjoyed 40+ years of dedicated service. After retiring, she enjoyed her family, friends and helping others right up until her death.

Kathryn loved to make others laugh. Meeting her for a second, or knowing her for years, she left a lasting impression of joy and love. She will be missed greatly by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

At Kathryn's request there will be no calling hours, funeral or memorial service. Instead, she asked that loved ones and friends watch the movie Secretariat, one she watched over 300 times, and when you hear the line "Let him run his race darlin", think of her fondly.
