Kathryn Anna Lane
Palmyra: A ge 94, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at FF Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua, NY. Kathryn was born April 10, 1922 to the late Wilbur and Cecelia Bennett in Moriah, NY. She worked all her life as quality control in several factories retiring from Harris Corporation after 30 years of service. Kathryn was a lifetime member, and past president, of the American War Dads, Chapter 44 of the Palmyra VFW post 6778, where she volunteered countless hours of her time.
Kathryn was predeceased by her husband, Francis "Snooky" Lane; sisters Jane Bennett Coon and Margaret Bennett Johnston; great grandson Jason Morf; and great granddaughter Shayelynn VanHout.
Kathryn is survived by her sister Cecelia Bennett Maier; her two daughters Sharon Lane Smith(Steve White) and Charlotte Lane VanHout (Gerald); her son-in-law David Smith; her grandchildren Jody Smith Matteson (Rick), Jackelyn Smith Steines (Thomas), Tracey VanHout and Trevor VanHout; her great grandchildren Kacie and Jordyn Matteson, Brooke and Jenna Steines, Abigail and Leah VanHout; many nieces and nephews, her Steven Minister and dear friend Cindy Ikewood, and her beloved parrott Buddy.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 5-8PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 123 East Jackson Street, Palmyra, NY 14522. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Kathryn's life will be offered on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9AM at St. Anne's Church (St. Katharine Drexel Parish), 136 Church Street, Palmyra, NY 14522. Interment will follow at Macedon Center Cemetery.
