Lawrence E. Hall    "Larry"

Newark/The Villages, Florida:  Passed away on January 24, 2016 in Tampa, Florida at the age of 77.  He was born on August 6, 1938 to the late Arthur and Geraldine Hall in Geneva, NY.  Larry was predeceased by his brothers Donald and Arthur Hall.  Survived by his children, Kara (Will) Surphlis and Steven (Carrie) Hall; grandchildren, Chanelle, Garrett, Abigail and Emma; sister, Catherine; brother, Phillip, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Larry grew up in the State of New York and attended Alfred State College.  In 1959 he entered the United States Navy where he served in the construction battalion known as the seabees.  He often spoke of his time in Spain, Cuba and Haiti.  Larry later attended Oswego State College in Oswego, NY where he obtained his teaching degree.  Larry then went to work as an Industrial Arts teacher in the Newark, NY Central School system where he would continue his career until his retirement.  Larry would split his time between Newark, NY and The Villages in Florida. He enjoyed boating, dancing and playing Euchre. Most recently he was involved in mentoring young people in the art of boat building and restoration.  His most treasured activity was making memories with his grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 State Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502.  Private burial services will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be made in Larry's name to the Sunnyland Chapter Antique & Classic Boat Society, PO Box 689, Mt.
