Rogers, Leo John
Macedon: Passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the age of 84. The oldest of ten children, Leo was born to Irish immigrants, the late John and Stella Byers Rogers. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn; daughters, Teresa (Paul) Rivard, Sheri (James Nichols) Miller; sons, Todd (Heather) Rogers and Chad Rogers; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, James (Ernestine), Joseph (Jane) and Howard Rogers; sisters, Irene Smith, Betty (James) Smith, Ina Wallace, Emily (Donald) Jeffrey, Gladys Deagman and Eunice (Marvin) Isgur; sisters-in-law, Betty (Eugene) O'Neill, Peggy (Ron Clark) Soden; brothers-in-law William ( Virginia) Guinup and Wesley Reynolds.
Leo was employed as a truck mechanic with Rochester Truck Rental. However, his passion was with farming and in 1962 he and Carolyn purchased their farm in Macedon. Each day, he would head to work as a truck machanic and would eagerly return home so he could work on his farm. Leo also enjoyed traveling, especially if there was a farm show to visit. Leo and Carolyn met at a square dance and would continue to enjoy dancing for many years as a couple.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 4 to 6PM, where a prayer service will follow, at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502.
