IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Grace
Hout
June 18, 1947 – February 13, 2026
Ontario - Linda Grace Hout was called to her heavenly home on February 13th, 2026, in Ontario NY. Born on June 18th, 1947, in Irvona, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James Denning and Florene (Miles) (Denning) Pitcock of Marshallville, OH. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Danny; brothers; Robert Denning, James (Charlene) Denning; four sons, Troy (Valerie Vogelsong) Hout, Travis (Carol) Hout and Stephen (Katie) Hout, and Richardt Andreassen (Marlene Krogh) of Silkeborg, Denmark and family; 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Ellie, Carson, Quintin and Cooper, along with many nieces, nephews, extended close family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, James, mother Florene, Sister In-Law Carol and niece, Michelle.
Marshallville, Ohio became Linda’s home at an early age. She was a proud graduate of Smithville High School in 1965. Her friendships made with classmates, and the many trips with the Yo-Yo’s were treasured moments of her life. Linda enjoyed a fulfilling career in dentistry after completing her degree at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Proudly, she began work immediately in Ohio and ultimately retired from dentistry in Bemus Point, NY. Her patients were important to her, she enjoyed seeing the kids grow and cherished the several connections she was able to make, many which lasted throughout her life. After her retirement, Linda followed her love for antiques, and used her keen eye to find purses, jewelry, and specifically her favorite find, gold. She was able to build upon that passion with her enjoyment of helping others through hosting estate sales. Linda stayed active in the antique and collector’s community though her participation in the Westfield Antique Shop, HFM Emporium, and attendance at local auctions and sales.
Linda lived a life that was full of conversation, she enjoyed talking with family and friends on the phone and in person. She never met a stranger. Her membership in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority created lasting friendships and laughter. She was a great conversationalist because she knew the importance of listening. Whenever a loved one was in need, she was supportive as a listener, but also as a doer. Her helping hand spoke volumes. She made sure that those who were important to her knew it, through love, and often a lot of spoiling. She was a “cool” grandmother, known as Mimi, that doted on her children regularly through her various channels, and she was always up for anything her grandchildren wanted, from beaches to thrift stores, or anywhere her little ones desired.
Traveling with Danny across the country created loving memories, as well as the times hosting family. Linda’s guests were filled with laughter, food, drink and good times as family and friends came to see the Western New York sights; vineyards, ski slopes, and snowmobile trails. Her heart was happy when the house was full of guests. She always supported her family’s athletes and local teams Wayne Central and Westfield, from Little League all the way to college. She cheered loudly, with passion, and knowledge of the games and athletes she knew, not only in the region but across the nation. Watching her son and traveling with the Penn State Behrend basketball team along with Danny were some of her favorite times.
Linda was very liberal in her love for people, her many precious pets, and the Democratic process and values of our country. She enjoyed politics, attending campaign events, news, and being informed of the happenings around the world. She was never afraid to speak her mind on topics that she felt were important to not only her, but all of those around the world. She was convicted in her thoughts, yet kind, gracious and intelligent enough to listen to other viewpoints. The loving and resilient nature Linda was born with led to life filled with experiences, humor, determination, that was complete with love accompanied by many hugs and kisses.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the love Linda shared and the legacy that continues in all who were fortunate to know her. Linda will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Please join friends and family in Linda’s honor at the Westfield VFW on Saturday, February 28th from 3PM-6PM. A private burial will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Westfield Little League, Northern Chatauqua Canine or simply pay it forward with kindness, just as she would.
