IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lois-Mae
Lucas
August 9, 1955 – October 19, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Lois Lucas O'Brien on October 19, 2024. Lois was predeceased by her parents Geraldine and Willis Hegeman.
Lois is survived by her husband, Kevin M. OBrien, her four sons - Chris Lucas (wife Misha and their daughter Cassandra Elizabeth Lucas), Rick Lucas, Jordan Lucas and Andrew Lucas; her sister Beth Hegeman Drasch (husband Don Drasch and their two daughters Karen Hayes and Kati Drasch); her three brothers - Fred Hegeman , John Hegeman (and his two sons Kyle and Joel Hegeman), David Hegeman (and his step-daughter Jessica Atkins Blair and his son Shane Hegeman) and Kevin's daughters (Elizabeth and Therese O'Brien).
Lois grew up in West Bloomfield, NY later moving to Fairport, NY where she met her husband Kevin (second marriages for both of them). They both loved spoiling their dog Max, attending live local band performances, enjoying an occasional Friday fish fry, spending time with friends and family members and trying their luck at the local casinos. They even got married in Las Vegas. Many stories of wins and losses and their adventures were told over the years.
After a long career with BOCES, Lois retired in 2019 and was fully embracing the retired lifestyle. One of Lois' favorite quotes was posted on her Facebook page, "My greatest treasure is my family. We may not be perfect, but I love them with all my heart". She was so looking forward to visiting her newest member of the family, her granddaughter, Cassandra Elizabeth Lucas in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lois will be remembered and missed by many friends and family members. She greeted all with a welcoming and comforting smile and could bring a calming presence to any situation. Lois loved to laugh and be part of the fun. Her passing was so sudden and unexpected. Please share your stories and memories of Lois. These memories and stories will bring comfort to her family members in the days to come. To share a special memory or thought please visit www.murphyfuneralservices.com.
