Peterson, Lois Marie:
Ontario: Went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the age of 85. Lois was born on May 3, 1930 to the late Ruth Marie and Hollis Edward Petersen in Clarksville, Michigan. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Sheldon Peterson, her daughter Sheleen Peterson Breed and brother Hollis Petersen. Lois is survived by her daughters; Dawn (Eric) Mehserle, Vicki (Jon) Drexler and Hollie (Mike) Stenglein ; grandchildren, Chris (Tina) Breed, Laura (Shawn) Crandall, Jessica (Carl) Provenzano, Adam (Christina) Drexler, Jared Drexler, Kelly Stenglein and Zachary Stenglein; great grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Breed; Jonah, Caleb, and Isabelle Crandall; Mason, Carter, Landon, and Tenley Provenzano; sisters, Donna (Arnie) Ring and Marian Culver; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Lois was a remarkable woman of God who truly lived for Christ daily. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. A sweetheart, with a servant's heart, she took her role as a pastor's wife wholeheartedly and made it her ministry. "Lois and Shel" were an extremely rare ministry team. They had an influence and strong impact on all they ministered. Lois was a gracious lady. Strangers, and friends alike, Lois was a blessing to everyone. There are no words to describe all that this woman, a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, was to everyone with whom she had contact. Lois will be missed for all the acts of love, kindness, caring and the lives she touched by simply being a happy person. Lois was "our gem" and set an example that will never be forgotten by our family.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at St. John's Home by simply saying "a special thank you for all the care you gave Lois".
Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 4-8PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.
