Margaret Theresa Haroff Margaret Theresa Haroff was born on August 28, 1946, in Kew Gardens, NY and peacefully passed away on November 26, 2024 in Macedon, NY. Margaret was born to the late Albert and Margaret Steigmeier. Margaret is survived by her brothers, Andrew (Carolyn) Steigmeier of Savannah, GA and John (Dina) Steigmeier of Smithfield, NC; her daughters, Shannon Marie Kelley of Sweden and Heather Anne Haroff of Wayne County, NY; her grandson, Andrew Haroff (Nicole Goulette) of Palmyra, NY; her great granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Haroff of Palmyra, NY; Andrew's father, Jeff VanDerveere of Palmyra, NY; her beloved companion of 7 years, Robert L Conway of Long Island, NY; her friend, Jennifer Habecker of Macedon, NY who Marge considered her "daughter from another mother"; 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great-nephews and many dear friends. Margaret grew up in Bethpage, Long Island, NY. She graduated from BHS in 1964 then attended and graduated from Suffolk Community College and Russell Sage College. She worked on Wall Street for JP Morgan until moving to the Adirondacks in 1970. Marge started her career in the healthcare industry at Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga, NY. She was involved with the development of a new Nursing Home Facility and the replacement of the hospital itself. She also owned and operated Bar H Stable where she gave trail rides and riding lessons. In 1990, Marge relocated to Macedon, NY and continued her career as the Administrator of the Wayne County Nursing Home. She was proud to lead the development and construction of the new Wayne County Nursing Home Facility providing a more home-like environment for the residents. After 23 years of dedicated service, Marge retired in 2013. Marge had a full life! She enjoyed spending time on Boy Scout adventures with her grandson, including caving, whitewater rafting, camping and several summer trips. Marge took every opportunity to travel including trips to England, Scottland, Wales, France, Spain, Switzerland, Rome and various cruises, not to mention her many road trips around the country. In most recent years, Marge enjoyed spending time with her partner, Rob, golfing, traveling, volunteering and spending time with family and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours from 3pm – 6 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Route 31 Macedon, NY 14502. Mass will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at St Kathrine Drexel Parish at St Patrick Church, 52 W Main St Macedon, NY 14502. Burial to immediately follow at St Anne's Catholic Cemetery, 253 Howell St Palmyra, NY 14522. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Marge's memory to the Wayne County Nursing Home Foundation, 1529 Nye Rd Lyons, NY 14489 or House of John, 14 Spring St Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
