Margaret Leora (Herendeen) Hartsough, age 89 of Farmington, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday April 30th at Ewing Continuing Care Center of Thompson Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Arthur S. Herendeen and Leora Allen Herendeen of Farmington, NY. She graduated from Victor High School and attended Cornell University. She was Town Historian for the Town of Farmington for over 25 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Harry Lloyd Hartsough. Her children are Lois M. Hartsough of Boston, MA, Hyland L. Hartsough (Anne) of Farmington, NY, Dan M. Hartsough (Maria) of Princeton, IL, and Nora Hartsough Lasher (Karl) of Harrisburg, PA. She leaves seven grandchildren: Deborah (Justin), Daniel, David, Harrison (Amy), Celeste, Katherine and Jodi and four great grandchildren, Carson, Mia, Hudson, and John. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Allen, George, James, Charles, Clarence and sister Alice. She is survived by brothers Richard, Nathan and Stanley. A celebration of life will be held at Farmington Friends Meeting (Church), 187 County Road 8, Farmington, NY on May 27, 2023 at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow.
