IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Marie
(Weisschadel) Stoddard
December 25, 1936 – January 29, 2025
Margaret M. Stoddard (née Weisschadel), 88, of Fairport, New York, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, at St. Johns Home in Rochester, New York. A beloved mother, grandmother (affectionately known as "Gram Cracker"), aunt, and friend, Margaret's kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Penelope Ezell (Richard) of Honeoye Falls; her cherished grandson, Andrew Schultz of New York City; and her brother-in-law, David Stoddard (Karen). She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her devoted husband of 64 years, Bruce Stoddard; her parents, Frederick and Ellen Weisschadel; and siblings: Frederick, Irene, David, Anna, M. Charles, Ernest, Ruth, Carl, Robert, and Katherine.
Born on December 25, 1936, in Webster, New York, Margaret graduated from Webster High School in 1955. She later settled in Fairport, New York, where she and Bruce built a life together for over six decades. They shared 64 wonderful years of marriage until Bruce's passing in 2020. Margaret was well known for her delicious home-baked treats, especially her Christmas cookies—a holiday tradition she cherished. Margaret's deep faith was reflected in her more than 50 years as a dedicated member of Raymond Memorial Baptist Church in Fairport. Her commitment to helping others extended to her years of service at the Perinton Food Shelf, where she eagerly assisted those in need. Throughout her life, she found great joy in her love for animals.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Rochester Regional Health Hospice Care team and the staff of St. John's Home for their compassionate care during Margaret's final days.
In memory of Margaret, contributions may be made to the Perinton Food Shelf or Lollypop Farm causes that held special meaning for her.
A memorial service to celebrate Margaret's life will be held in the summer of 2025. May her legacy of love and compassion continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
"Her heart was as vast as the ocean, always ready to share its bounty; though she's gone, the ripples of her generosity will continue to touch our lives forever."
