Marjorie  Bridson "Marje"

Ontario:  82, sadly left our world on January 14, 2025  after a life richly lived in service and kindness to her community, friends, and family.

Marje grew up in East Rochester and moved to Ontario, NY in 1968. Marje is survived by her loving husband William; daughter Robin (boyfriend Fran Liuzzi); son Todd; her sister AnnMarie Brown, and many loving relatives and friends.

Quoting from her friend, and current Wayne County Republican Chairman, MaryAnne Nicosia-McCarthy:

"Marje was a long-time member of the Town of Ontario Republican Committee and represented her District until yesterday.  She was a founding member of the Ontario Town Women's Republican Club and served as President for years. She was the President of the  Wayne County Women's  Republican Club.  She was the Corresponding Secretary and a President of the New York State Federation of Republican Women and served two terms as a Board member of the National Federation of Republican Women.  In addition to being a long serving Committeewoman on the Ontario Committee, Marje was Ontario's longtime Secretary, giving up the position only a handful of years ago.  She was the Secretary of the County Committee for years, until about 12 years ago when she was elected First Vice Chairman for Chairman Oaks. She thrived on teaching her successors on how to do things the right way.  She taught us how to be a Republican and for many of us how to be a Republican woman. It is difficult to lose a legend.  It is difficult to lose a friend, but many of us can be comforted by the fact that we carry the scars from Marje's teeth in our butts."

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of calling on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.  All other services will be private.  Please visit the tribute wall for Marje, on her obituary site, at www.murphyfuneralservices.com to leave a special memory, light a candle, or to upload a photo. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Marje to the Rotary Camp Onseyawa whose mission is "to provide a camping experience for 8-16 year old children with disabilities from the 4 county area, and to foster independence and acceptance of others through social, recreational, and educational aspects of life".
