Macedon/Palmyra:  Pettrone, Martin A.  "Marty"

Martin "Marty" A. Pettrone,  age 84 of Macedon, and formerly of Palmyra,  went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 after a brief illness.

Marty was born on November 11, 1929 in Manchester, NY the son of Patsy and Margaret Pettrone. Aside from his parents, Marty was predeceased by his brothers John and Joseph Pettrone.  He is suvived by Geraldine, his loving wife of 58 years.  He also leaves a sister Rose, a special nephew John Pettrone; nieces, Carol Welch of Arizona and Nancy Long of Geneva, NY.

Marty belonged to the Mason's, was a proud Korean War Veteran and retired from the Newark Developmental Center.  During his lifetime he was an avid collector of antiques, baseball cards and numerous other items that peeked his interest.

There will be no prior calling.  Family and Friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Marty's life, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 1PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502 where military honors will be presented at the conclusion of the service in the funeral home chapel.  Private interment at Palmyra Cemetery.  Memorials in memory of Marty may be directed to the House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs, NY 14432.  Family and Friends are invited to leave condolences at www.murphyfuneralservices.com .
