Mary H. O'Connor

Macedon:  Mary passed away on August 7th, 2022 at the age of 96 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband William O'Connor, son Jerry O'Connor, and parents Sherwood and Margaret Coon, as well as several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children Beverly (William) Kemp, Patrick O'Connor, Patricia (Kenneth) Morrison, Jeanne O'Connor.  She was a cherished grandmother to 12 grandchildren, and too many great grandchildren to count.

Mary was born and raised in Pumpkin Hook with her eleven siblings.  She attended the one room schoolhouse until the eighth grade, and then helped to raise her other siblings. Mary married William at 18, and they started their family in Walworth, New York. She worked at American Can, and later became a home maker. Their family settled in Palmyra. Mary enjoyed watching the news, special lunch gatherings with her sisters, and the occasional scratch off ticket win.  She was visited regularly by her family where she was always eager to hear the gossip, and be the first to share.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service in her memory on Friday, August 12th, 2022 at 11am at the Palmyra Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation in Mary's honor.
