Mary O. Waasdorp   "Owen"

Fairport:  Passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the age of 86.  Mary was born on July 12, 1935, in Batavia, NY, to the late John and Grace "Klem" Owen.  She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert "Bob"; sons David (JoAnn) of East Rochester, Robert of Macedon  and Scott (Janet) Waasdorp of Fairport; six grandchildren, Adrian (Teri) Waasdorp, Lori Jo (Chris) Herbert, Lacey Waasdorp, Victoria (Antonio) Herbert, Alexandria (Jonathan) Walker and Vanessa (Derek) Carlisle; 4 great grandchildren; sister Judy (Roger) Irwin and sister-in-law Beverly (David) Crowell; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Living in Fairport, NY for most of her life she worked as a secretary for 25 years at Johanna Perrin Middle School. She was always incredibly involved in the community and was always a gracious host to family, friends and the children of the neighborhood. She was always active in her son's sporting events, attending all their games and running the concessions every summer. As an avid Yankees fan, she made sure she was tuned in to every game! Mary was an accomplished painter and had a passion for home décor, collecting various glassware and china, then using that skill in her décor to hand-paint plates and pitchers. She loved gardening, entertaining, cooking, and always had a house (and purse) full of candy.
