Meghan Lee Orbaker passed away suddenly on July 11, 2016. Born December 9, 1986, she resided in Palmyra and graduated from Palmyra Macedon Central School in 2005. Meghan was predeceased by her grandfathers; Harold Button, Alvin Orbaker and Herbert Witt. She is survived by her mother, Edna (Dennis) Houser of Palmyra; her father, John (Darlene Mahnke) Orbaker of Palmyra; her sister, Paula (Rholan) Clifton of Springfield, GA and their children Morgan and Jesse; her maternal grandmother Edna (Dick Clark) Button of Potter, NY; her paternal grandmother, Marjorie Witt of Palmyra; her step-sisters Gina Marie (Geoff Cannon) Houser of Penfield and their children, Michael, Zachary, Schuyler, Katie and Marella; Denise (Dieter) Zimmerman of Honeoye Falls, NY and their children Courtney and Nicole; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and many friends.
While in school, Meghan played soccer and bowled on a league at Roseland Bowl in Canandaigua. She was also active in the Macedon Fire Department Explorers program for many years. After graduation, she attended Finger Lakes Community College and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was also a member of the Phelps American Legion Auxiliary and the Palmyra VFW Auxiliary, where she volunteered many hours. Meghan was a line supervisor, trainer and valued employee at Bakewise in Macedon, where she was honored by earning "Employee of the Month". She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and traveling.
Friends are invited to call Friday, July 15, 2016 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 State Route 31, Macedon, NY where her funeral service will be Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Palmyra Village Cemetery. A continuation of the celebration of Meghan's life will follow the burial service, at the Palmyra VFW, 4306 State Route 31, Palmyra, NY 14522. A luncheon will commence at noon. In honor of Meghan's love of children, the family requests donations to St Jude Children's research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or www.stjude.org.
