In loving memory of Melanie

Melanie passed away suddenly on October 4, 2025, at 21 months old.

Melanie was a lovable, joyful little girl whose smile could brighten any room. She was a perfect child—sweet, gentle, and never one to fuss (only sometimes). Her laughter brought joy to everyone around her, and her kind spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Melanie loved spending her days at the park, playing on the swings, running through the fields, and coloring with her favorite crayons. She adored her stuffies and found happiness in life's simplest moments.

More than anything, Melanie loved her mommy and daddy with all her heart. She was their light, their joy, and their greatest blessing.

Melanie was the most perfect little girl, loved deeply by so many wonderful people. She will forever be missed and cherished—loved beyond words, until we simply cannot love her anymore.

She was predeceased by her mimi, Sherry Parsons; great grandma, Gloria Parsons; and great grandpa, Dean Croucher.

Melanie is survived by her parents, Salvatore Meli and Elizabeth Stedge; brother, Elijah; nana and papa, Abigail J. Hoffman and Brandon L. Dishaw; paternal grandfather, Salvatore Meli Jr.; great grandfather, James Hoffman; great grandmothers, Meridith Croucher and Rose Eileen Meli; aunt, Laurie Parsons (Carl Main); uncle, Landon Meli; great uncles, Onofrio Meli and Karl (Jess) Hoffman; great aunts, Heidi Hoffman, Ashley (Jon) Ameele; cousin, Rieley Cermak; her dog, JoJo; and several other uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Heritage Baptist Church, 2367 State Route 21, Palmyra, NY 14522, where a funeral service for Melanie will follow at 6:00pm. The family requests bright colors, white, or pink to be worn for Melanie's services.

Melanie will be laid to rest on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The family asks that anyone wishing to be in the procession to the cemetery, please meet at Heritage Baptist Church, 2367 State Route 21, Palmyra, NY 14522, by 9:30am on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Burial will take place following the procession to the cemetery at St. Agnes Cemetery, County Highway 13, Clifton Springs, NY 14432. After the burial, friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at the Phelps American Legion, 1346 NY-96, Phelps, NY 14532. There will be a cash bar and if you are able to bring a dish to pass, that would be appreciated, but not necessary.
