Melvin Eugene Sharrow passed away peacefully after a hard-fought battle with cancer on June 15, 2023 at the age of 81. He leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Donna Sharrow; children, Michael Sharrow (Claudette), Melissa Sharrow (Sara); siblings, Shirley Vassalo, Evelyn Dayton, Lela Sharrow (Joanne LiBerti) Gail Sharrow; best friend Gregg Foster; granddaughter, Brittani Boyer; and countless friends, who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his mother, Florence Irene Seid.

Mel, as he was known by all, served his country in Vietnam and dedicated over 30 years of his life to volunteer work with the Wayne County Sheriff's Department. A machinist by trade, he worked at Kodak for 28 years. Mel was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed attending classic car shows. He also had a deep appreciation for craft beer.

Calling hours with military funeral honors, will be held at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels at 1961 Ridge Rd. Ontario, NY on June 23, 2023, from 1pm-3pm.  A Celebration of Life to follow at 4pm at the Palmyra VFW, 4312 Rt 31, Palmyra NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to: The American Cancer Society or the Wayne County Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit.
