"Mike"

Farmington – Mike went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 23, 2026 at age 72 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to the late Harold and Myrtle Eames.

Mike is survived by his wife, Robin Eames; daughters, Kerri Eames, Michelle (Joseph) Bills, Katherine Eames, and Christina Eames; grandchildren, Alivia, Jonah, and Noah Bills; step-mother, Janice Eames; siblings, Greg (Dee) Eames and Marcia (Scott) Sheavly; mother-in-law, Linda Stebbins; 4 legged friends, Victor and Penny; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.

Mike’s greatest joy was his family. He loved rolling up his sleeves to help his daughters with winterguard props—measuring, building, painting, and fixing whatever was needed. Mike cherished the simple moments just as much: low-key evenings spent together watching softball or football from his rocking chair. He also loved watching baseball games with his girls, especially his summer trips to Baltimore to catch a game. A devoted Grampy, Mike delighted in playing with his grandkids in his study and spending time with them in the pool. He had a special place in his heart for his “grand-cats,” too. In addition to being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mike was a dedicated professor of mathematics at Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Monroe Community College, where he was known for his patience, encouragement, and genuine care for his students.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7PM on Wednesday April 29th at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Rte. 31, Macedon, NY 14502. A memorial service honoring Mike will be held at 11am on Thursday April 30th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 320 S. Pearl St, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
