Michael S. O'Connell

Palmyra – Michael passed away on July 27, 2022 at age 83.  He was predeceased by his parents, Terry and Janet; brother, Tim; sister, Ellen; and baby sister, Angela.

Michael is survived by his wife, Laurel O'Connell; children, Shane (Michelle) O'Connell and Susan Ogrodowski, Brian (Lisa) Denis, Adam (Annemarie) Denis, and Renee (John) Peterson; grandchildren, Keenan and Logan Denis, Gunnar, Kyle, and Ethan Welsher, Sydney, Tucker, and Zack Mixon and Max Orgrodowski; sister, Anne O'Connell Kryger; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michael "Butch" O'Connell lived much of his life in Palmyra New York.  He worked for IBEW, local 86, for 60 years and retired from the union in 2000.  Mike enjoyed spending time in Florida and New York visiting with family and friends. He loved giving the grandkids his wisdom and sharing stories of his younger days.

Mike was a car enthusiast. He loved going to the car shows, the races and restoring his own vintage cars.

Michael was an avid Miami dolphin fan, loved parades and fairs, and had an extensive t-shirt collection and watching the ducks on the pond.

At the end of the day, you could often find Mike at Lock 29, " the office".
