Schafer
October 16, 1951 – January 23, 2024
Michael R Schafer 'Mike'
Victor: Died peacefully on January 23, 2024, surrounded by his family, after a short illness at the age of 72. Mike was born on October 16, 1951 to the late Leo C., and Helen 'Purdy' Schafer. He was also predeceased by his sister Donna 'Schafer' Warner, brother-n-law Tim Warner, and sister-in-law Linda Reagan. Mike is survived by his wife Jeanette 'Reagan' Schafer; brother Donald (Marilyn) Schafer; sister Cheryl (Thomas) 'Schafer' Baker; children, Michele 'Schafer' Klein, Taryn (Christopher) Gladstone, Christopher Schafer and Nicholas (Kelly) Schafer; grandchildren, Daniel (Mark), Dakota, Dillon, Chloe, Olivia, Trevan, Abigail, Billy, Parker and Andi; mother-in-law Catherine Reagan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles (Debbie) Reagan, Donna Reagan, Colleen Reagan, Eileen (Randy) Johnson, Deidre (Jeff) Johnson, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mike loved his family more than life itself. He served in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam veteran. He loved his Buffalo Bills, NY Yankees, reading, crossword puzzles and fishing. You would never see him wearing anything other than his flannel shirt and jeans. We ask that, for the services, in memory of Mike you wear your favorite pair of jeans, and casual shirt.
We would like to express our deepest thanks, and gratitude, to the ICU teams at both FF Thompson Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation, on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 State Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502; where a service to celebrate the life of Mike will be offered on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11AM. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Mike's memory may be directed to Honor Flight .
