Nicholas Dell'Olio: "Nick"
Ontario and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, Sayville, NY and the St. Petersburg/Gulfport area of Florida, passed away at his home in Ontario, NY on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the age of 93. Nick was predeceased by his wife Sarah Marino Dell'Olio. He is survived by his Sons Nicholas, Jr. and Michael (Patty) Dell'Olio; 4 grandchildren, Tara Gerard, Michael, Matthew and Joseph Dell'Olio; a great-granddaughter Kay Gerard, nieces, nephews other family and friends.
Nick served his country through the United States Army, 313th infantry, from 1942 through most of 1945 where he served in the campaigns of Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe, Normandy and Northern France. He and Sarah were married and lived in Sayville, NY where they raised their two sons. He spent most of his life as a barber by trade. Nick had lived for the past 14 years at Brown Square where he enjoyed playing bingo and going to visit with folks each day at lunch time. His sons say that although Nick liked the Yankees, it is fair to say that he was a Mets fan.
There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be offered to celebrate Nick's life on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11AM in the Walworth United Methodist Church, 3679 Main Street, Walworth, NY 14568. Interment will be private. Memorials in memory of Nick may be directed to Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623.
