Paul died on December 31, 2020 at age 70. He was predeceased by his father, Rene Gehan (Estelle) and mother Lou Ann Schlaffer; Sister - Catherine Hammel (Mike); brothers-in-law, Daniel Farnand and Barry Ogden; sister-in-law Sue Gehan (Frank).
Paul is survived by his sisters, Mary (Harry) Miller, Anne Farnand, Theresa (Terry) Wright, Margaret (James) Brewer, Michele Lupo, Bernadette Ogden, Bridget (Scott) Schmid; brothers, Frank and Larry Gehan, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and the Stacy family step sisters and brothers.
Born in Rochester, NY, Paul was a resident of Houston, Texas for over 35 years. He worked for the Harris County Assessor's Office in Houston and also worked as a palliative care nurse at the Houston Veterans Hospital for many years. Paul served 2 years in the Peace Corps in South Korea after graduating from SUNY Oswego.
Paul was both a student and instructor of the martial arts. He had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was a certified Tai Chi instructor. Paul loved animals and everything about the outdoors. He was an avid reader and enjoyed both playing and studying the game of Chess. Most of all, Paul loved being with family and friends and always looked forward to his visits home to Rochester.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 5-7 PM on Friday (May 14) at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Rte. 31, Macedon, NY 14502. Paul's Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday (May 15), 11 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4536 St. Paul Blvd., Rochester, NY 14617.
