Raymond passed away after a courageous battle with illness on May 17, 2024, at the age of 62. He was born on August 9, 1961, in Lynn, MA. He was the son of the late Raymond and Lorraine Harkin. After living in various locations throughout Massachusetts and New York, he settled down on his beloved farm in Macedon, New York.
He leaves behind his wife E.J. Betty Harkin, his sons Joseph and Adam, all from Macedon, NY, and his daughter, Petty Officer Third Class Jasmine Harkin stationed in Norfolk, VA.
He is also survived by his siblings Barbara Bauer and her husband John, Lorraine Harkin, Audrey Heh and her husband Chris, Diane Gilbert and her husband Marc, Tom Harkin and his wife Leanne, Janice Donovan and her husband Jim, Glen Harkin and his wife Reagan. Ray was predeceased by his sister Colleen Harkin. He also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ray worked in the trades before he moved back to Macedon, NY where he worked for many years at Lowes Home Improvement. Off and on throughout his life and full time for many years recently, Ray loved working at Schreiber's Dairy Farm in Ontario, NY where his work family made him feel like part of their family.
Ray was a true outdoorsman and a Man of the Land. He enjoyed nothing more than sitting outside, in a lawn chair, on a tree stand, riding a lawn mower, motorcycle or a snowmobile, or just walking about his property with his many dogs throughout the years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and shared the love of these sports with his family.
