Raymond Clare Kesel, Jr.    "Ray"  "Pops"  "Pa"

Victor/Shortsville:  Passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the age of 79.  Ray was born on April 23, 1937 to the late Hazel "Cox" and Raymond C. Kesel, Sr.  He is predeceased by his sister Betty Bock.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn "Dolly"; son, Greg (Mary Margaret) Kesel; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Kevin) Lechner; grandson, Ray "RJ" (Tara) Kesel; great grandson Gregory Kesel; great granddaughters, Mackenzie Kesel and Emily Chantal Lechner; brother, Jim (Pat) Kesel; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ray was a great father and best friend to his son, Greg.  He loved his family very much and looked forward to seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He loved spending time at his cottage "Camp LeGoose" on Keuka Lake.  Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Ray was a life member of the Citizen's Hose Company of Shortsville, NY.  Ray retired from Redcom in Fishers, NY. Following his retirement he and Dolly would winter in Florida where they made many new friends.  His family will miss him but cherish the legacy he has left behind.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 State Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502 where a celebration of Ray's life will take place at 10AM on Saturday, February 4, 2017.  Interment will be private.  Those wishing may direct memorial contributions to the Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Road, Geneva, NY 14456.  To light a candle, leave a condolence, or photo, please visit www.murphyfuneralservices.com
