IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert
Garbeck
March 7, 1935 – January 20, 2018
Robert Garbeck "Bob"
Macedon: Passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 at the age of 82. Bob was born on March 7, 1935 to his parents, the late Joseph and Lottie Garbeck. He is survived by his children, Debra Garbeck and Robert (Kim) Garbeck and their mother, Georgeanne Vyverberg; step-children, David (Michelle) Nelson and Stephanie (Adam) Martin; grandchildren, Alicia (Nicholas) Schrom, Holly (Ian) Jackson, Jake and John Garbeck, Jacob Nelson, and Christopher and Brett Martin; great grandchildren, Xander, Sawyer and Emilia, significant other and loving companion, Bridget Bounds, extended family and friends.
Bob was employed for 30 years at Kodak. In his free time, Bob enjoyed bowling in a league, playing in Euchre tournaments, breakfast dates, and winning (or mostly losing money) at the casino. Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was elated to be able to meet his three great grandchildren over the last few years.
All who knew Bob knew he wasn't a fan of cold weather or being cold. He became a snowbird and spent many winters in Treasure Island, Florida which became a second home. He encouraged visitors, and it was always important to him that his guests were enjoying themselves and that they saw dolphins while they were there.
Bob was a very generous man who would do anything for anyone and made friends wherever he went. In his last years, he especially enjoyed the company of his cat, Pepper, whom he had taken in as a stray. Bob will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all those who are better because of his presence in their lives.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of Bob's life on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 11am-1pm at the All Seasons Chapel on the grounds of White Haven Memorial Park, Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY.
