Rev. Ronald Edward Spayde, born on October 25, 1944, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 80, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Dolly Spayde; his son, David Spayde; his daughter, Danielle Spayde; his stepson, Christopher Mamroe (Melody); and his stepdaughter, Kerry Estes (Kenneth Jr.). He was a cherished grandfather to Zackary Mamroe, Jermiah Spayde, Samuel Spayde, and Abigail Spayde, and a proud great-grandfather to Francis, Averi, and Chloe Mamroe.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Henry Spayde, and his sister, Betty. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Eich (Tom), Barbara Kelley (Edward), and Eva Barlow (Matthew), along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A proud veteran, Ron served four years in the U.S. Air Force, including a tour in Vietnam. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he dedicated many years to serving as a Christian minister. He officiated numerous weddings, funerals, and baptisms and was active in preaching at several nursing homes. Ron had a special passion for working with children, leading Sunday School and Vacation Bible School programs.
After retiring, he and Dolly attended Eastside Christian Church in West Walworth until he was unable to go. Even in his later years, he found joy in listening to the Word on the church website.
A Memorial Service will be held at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY, 14502 on Sunday, February 23rd, at 3:00 PM. Ron will be laid to rest in New Castle, PA, during the spring, where a memorial service will also take place for family and friends.
