Roxanne Duffy Feeney:
Rochester/Leicester, NY: Went home to the Lord on April 8, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Eleanor Duffy and her beloved husband George Feeney. Survived by her daughter Anne Marie Feeney; granddaughter Ashley Feeney; sisters, Maxine (Ed) McDonald of Ontario, NY and Sharyn Duffy of Geneseo, extended family and friends.
Roxanne grew up in Leicester, NY and was a graduate of York Central High School and then went on to receive her undergraduate degree from Nazareth College in Pittsford, NY before receiving her Masters Degree in Social Work, from the University of Connecticut (UConn). Roxanne met her husband, George, while working at the Department of Social Services (DSS) in Hartford, Connecticut. In later years, she went to work for Tuesday's Child and another adoption agency where she did case studies. Roxanne also was a volunteer for many years with the Manchester, Connecticut area Council of Churches. Her husband, George, passed away in 1999. Roxanne moved back to the Rochester area in 2009; but she would always remain an avid fan of the University of Connecticut (UConn) women's basketball program. Roxanne loved cats.
Friends and family are invited to gather for Roxanne's Memorial Mass which will be offered on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 9:30AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2617 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14610. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Manchester, Connecticut. Memorials may be made in Roxanne's name to the Mercy Spirituality Center, 65 Highland Ave., Rochester, NY 14620, or, to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, 150 French Road, Rochester, NY 14618.
