Ruth E. Ameele
Ontario, NY - Ruth went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born in Ontario, NY to Mary Josephine (Granger) Eaton and Clinton Fred Eaton. She is predeceased by her husband, Richard Ameele, brothers, James Eaton and his wife Ruth, Granger (Jack) Eaton and his wife, June, and Norton (Nort) Eaton and his wife Betty, sisters Glenna Lewis and her husband Peter and Pearl Kiesinger and her husband Homer, brother-in-law Daniel McCullough, and brother-in-law Robert Ameele and his wife Joanne.
Ruth is survived by her sister, Nettie McCullough; sister-in-law, Carol (Ameele) Gillespie; brother-in-law, Lester Gillespie; sons, Allan Ameele, Brian (Laurie) Ameele, and Nelson (Cindy) Ameele; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan), Danielle (Larry), Aaron (Brandy), Sarah (Randy), and Benjamin; step-grandchildren, Sean (Katie), Brady (Marisa), and Joshua (Leah); great grandchildren, Evelyn,Vera, Hila, Layla, Wynn, and Jacob, and several step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ruth was well-known for her humble, giving nature. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She was always giving people rides to appointments, the grocery store, and church on Sunday. Ruth loved her church and church family and was a devoted member giving selflessly of her money, time, and talents. Ruth gave generously to many charities and was known to help even strangers in need. Most of all she gave to her family. Sunday dinners followed by a volleyball game were a family tradition. Ruth loved reading, tending to her flowers, and feeding the birds and animals. She will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 7th at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 1973 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY from 12:00 - 2:00PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00PM.
