Macedon Center: Ruth passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the age of 84. Ruth was born on November 18, 1930 to the late Howard and Charlotte Easton Bradley, in Macedon Center, NY. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howard "Red" Wiedrick; daughter, Ellen Wiedrick (Dennis) Benjamin of Stafford, VA; son, Barry "Buckett" ( Michele) Wiedrick, of Palmyra, NY; grandchildren, Kathryn "Kate" (David) Fadden, Brian Wiedrick and Emily (Justin Dean) Wiedrick; great grandchildren, Vanessa Fadden, Abigail Charlotte Fadden, and David Charles Fadden III; brother Thomas Bradley, extended family and many friends.
Ruth was a graduate of Macedon High School, class of 1948 and attended the Rochester Business Institute. She went on to work at Garlock Sealing Technologies until she had her children; and then for the Town of Macedon Water Department and the Wayne County Board of Elections after Ellen and Buckett had grown up. Ruth became a member of the Macedon Order of the Eastern Star at age 18, and then the Palmyra Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a lifelong active member. She had been the Wayne District Deputy and past Eureka Matron and TriStar Matron. Ruth was very passionate about her involvement with the Eastern Star and her presence will be missed by its members.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 4 to 7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502 where a brief prayer service will follow at 7PM. The Palmyra Order of the Eastern Star will close out the visitation and prayer service with a ceremonial tribute to Ruth and her contributions to Eastern Star. Spring interment will take place in the Macedon Village Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Ruth may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1120 South Goodman Street, Rochester, NY 14620.
