Passed away peacefully, at home in Pulaski, at the age of 84, surrounded by her family.  Predeceased by her husband, Raymond M. (Mike) Foos, Jr., mother, Madeline Allen Gardner and father, Robert Woodford Gardner.  Ruth is survived by her brother Robert (Cynthia) Gardner; loving children, Debra (Chris) Handley, Peggy (Jeff) Foos, Gary Foos; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Foos; 4 grandchildren, Sarah (James) Handley-Cousins, Eric (Tami) Plyter, Nicholas (Ashley) Foos, Danielle (Tyler) Taber; 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a registered nurse (RN) and was a graduate of the University of Rochester.  She worked at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, as well  as the family medical practice of Dr. Norman R. Loomis in Ontario, NY.   Ruth enjoyed meeting new people and making friends.  One of her joys in life was singing; Ruth participated in a community sing-a-long while living in Pulaski, NY.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:30PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519 where a service will follow at 4:30PM. Interment will take place on Friday, May 16, 2014 at  11 AM in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of a donation in Ruth's name to the Oswego County Hospice ( www.friendsofhospice.org/donate on the web.) or, by mail to Oswego County Hospice, Inc., PO Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126, or to a charity of your choice.
