1941-2015

Marion, NY:  Passed away suddenly into the arms of The Lord On Monday, April 6, 2015, at the age of 73.  Sherron was born on October 2, 1941, in Canandaigua, NY, to the late Edmund and Ella Hazel Vogt. Predeceased by her sister Hazel Ellen Vogt, Sherron is survived by her husband of 55 years, John R. Mousso; children, Jeff (Cindy) Mousso, Brenda (Ron) Martin, Virginia (Norman) Mayville, Jeanette Cooper, Margaret (Louis) Walker, Mark Mousso, John Jr. (Lisa) Mousso and Michelle Hoyt; twenty four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Kelly, Katherine (Gerry) Niedermeier; brother, Skip (Debbie) Vogt, many nieces, nephews,  other family and friends.

Sherron loved people and found a great deal of satisfaction in helping others.  She worked for a period of thirty years with the Marion Water Department where she met numerous people and enjoyed finding ways to help solve problems.  In later years, she went to work on a part time basis, with the Palmyra Historical Society.  She and John shared an interest in working on old chairs.  John enjoyed woodworking and he would focus on repairing and refinishing a chair while Sherron would work on re-caning.  The family has a camp on Oneida Lake, in Central NY, and Sherron enjoyed spending time there as a family.  Sherron loved the snow.  She lived in the perfect area for one who loves the winter months.  Part of her love for winter was the pleasure she found in the Christmas season.  Sherron's children remember that she loved her Buicks, enjoyed the company of her pets and had a liking for most animals, but most of all she will be remembered for being the family caregiver. She will be missed.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY.  A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 9AM at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, at St. Anne's Church, 136 Church Street, Palmyra (North of Route 31, Main Street, on right), NY.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.  Memorials in memory of Sherron may be directed to Highland Hospital Foundation, 1000 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14620.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com .
