DECEMBER 27, 1933 ~ MARCH 25, 2018 (AGE 84)

Shirley Crosby Stevens, 84, of Exton, PA, and formerly of Ontario, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. She was the beloved wife of M. John Stevens, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Durham, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late C. Murphy and J. Ann Ligon Crosby. Shirley and her husband started their family in Ontario shortly after their marriage. She worked in their family business, Stevens Gas Service. She was devoted to her family and will be remembered for how generously she shared her love and laughter. In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her children, Keith Stevens and Julia Stevens (Eric Cobb); two grandchildren, Anne and Mary Stevens; a step-grandchild, Alicia M. Stout; a sister and five brothers; a sister-in-law, Marlyn Stevens; a brother-in-law, Mark (Colleen) Stevens; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and sisters and her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Stevens. A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Furnaceville Cemetery in Ontario, NY. A Celebration of Life will be held at her childhood church in Catawba, SC at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
