Stella Olesiuk Carter

Constantia: Stella was born on February 7, 1923 in New York City, NY.  She was a homemaker, beautician with Korvettes in New York City and a sales clerk with Sears, where she retired after 14 years.  In 1972, Stella moved to Constantia, NY where she and her family enjoyed the beautiful North Shore of Oneida Lake. The family has and will continue to enjoy many summers on the lake because of Stella's generous spirit.  She was president of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Bernadette's Church and held office in Julie Thurston Library Guild.  Stella moved to Central Square, NY in 1984 and recently resided in Webster, NY. Stella was able to live in close proximity to her daughters and peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday August 30, 2015.

Stella was predeceased by her daughter, Janina Kelly.  She is survived by her son-in-law, Tom Kelly, whom along with Janina lovingly cared for Stella in Wurtsburo, NY.  She is also survived by her daughters, Fran (Pucci) McCarthy of Ontario, NY, Laurie and Pat Miller of Trumansburg, NY and Lisa Gorton of Trumansburg, NY; 10 grandchildren, Tammie, Tricia, Tina, Allyson, Scott, Christy, Kaitlyn, Ritchie, Matt and Michael; 17 great grandchildren; 2 to-be great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Baywinde, where Stella has resided for the past year, for their welcoming spirit and a special thank you to the staff at St. Ann's Rehab Community for their compassionate care of Stella over the past 5 weeks.

A memorial service celebrating Stella's life will be held on Saturday September 12, 2015, at 11 AM at St. Bernadette's Church, 1667 NY-49, Constantia, NY 13044.  Interment will be held in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.  A Mass mentioning a special intention for Stella will be held on Sunday (September 13), 11:15 AM at St. Ann's at Cherry Ridge, 900 Cherry Ridge Blvd., Webster, NY 14580.  To leave the family a condolence, please visit www.murphyfuneralservices.com .
