Susan D. Steffenhagen    "Sue"

Walworth:  Passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the age of 47. Sue was born in Rochester, NY on August 13, 1968 to the late William and Margaret "Morton" Hess.  She is survived by her daughters Sara and Jessica Steffenhagen; former husband and close friend, John Steffenhagen; sisters, Cindy Hartley and Shari (Manny) Colon; brother William Hess, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Sue was a fighter.  She battled her illness and never allowed it to define her as a person.  She lived a full life.  More than anything in this world, she loved and enjoyed her daughters.  She maintained a close relationship with her former husband and their father, John.  Together, they maintained a strong faith in their Lord.  Sue loved her extended family at Living Word Assembly of God Church in Ontario, NY.  To relax, Sue loved to read.  She enjoyed the Adirondack Mountains, and especially Cranberry Lake.  She found pleasure being surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and the water.  She was intrigued by the loons you can hear in the quietness of the lake region.  Sue worked as an administrative assistant for Nothnagle Realtors and was appreciative of all their support.  Her favorite color was purple.  According to John, she liked her music; and her guilty pleasure of days gone by would be to listen to the eighties rock band Loverboy. Sue will be missed but she leaves behind a legacy in her daughters, extended family and friends, who will continue to share memories of Sue so she will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation at the Living Word Assembly of God Church, 2344 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519 from 3 to 5PM where a funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, on Thursday, June 30, 2016.  Interment will take place on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10AM at the Walworth Cemetery located on Sherburne Road, Walworth, NY.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com.
