Theodore "Ted" A. Rimel
Farmington: A talented craftsman and lifelong horse enthusiast, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 78. A longtime resident of Farmington, NY, Ted was known by many for his generous spirit, skilled hands, and warm personality.Ted possessed a remarkable, natural talent for woodworking. He was a master of his craft who could build absolutely anything someone envisioned, leaving behind beautiful pieces that his family will always treasure. Beyond his workshop, Ted’s greatest passion was horses. In his earlier years, he spent countless hours at the Finger Lakes Race Track, where he worked closely with the horses and even proudly owned a few of his own. In later years, you could almost always find Ted somewhere on the front side of the track—studying the racing form, placing his bets, and chatting warmly with the many lifelong friends he made there. He truly loved the community and the energy of the track.Ted was predeceased by his beloved father, George I. Rimel; his mother, Hannelore Rimel; and his sister, Jeannie Rimel. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Rimel; his brother, George W. Rimel; and his sister, Lori Rimel. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children; daughters Stacey (Matt) Moroz, Jennifer Wells, Amanda Karszes, and Macie (Brandon) Schmal, and his son, Jason Clark. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
