IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas
Anderson
December 15, 1954 – May 10, 2014
Anderson, Thomas R. "Tom"
Macedon: Passed away on May 10, 2014 at the age of 59. Tom was born on December 15, 1954 in Lima, Ohio to Harry and Barbara Anderson. He is survived by his wife Christine; step-daughters Heather (Maurice) and Hailey; grandchildren, Angelique and Maurice; sister, Julie Mulhern; brother, Craig Anderson; numerous family and friends.
Tom had a passion for almost anything that was operated by an engine. For many years, Tom has been well known for being both a driver and a crew chief of race cars; in particular, funny cars. Tom wanted to go fast and win. He was very successful. In addition to the funny cars, Tom enjoyed racing boats and he was a licensed airplane pilot. He purchased a few planes so he could travel around the country to the venues where they would be racing cars. In fact, he and Christine were married aboard their plane on March 17, 2000. Tom was also a farmer. He owned and farmed land in Macedon. He raised cattle, pigs and grew flax, corn and soybean. Tom's sister, Julie, says that he learned to drive a tractor before he drove a car. Aside from his farm animals, Tom loved his pets. He had two dogs, Chloe and Sachi, along with two cats Tiva and Jara. Tom was the former General Manager of Union Processing, a scraping company, in North Chili, NY. His ideal vacation involved work. However, Christine states that they did take one vacation, to Cape Cod, which involved no work. Tom actually enjoyed the time relaxing. Tom enjoyed his grandchildren and would play Yahtzee and card games with them. Tom was always busy, no time for TV, but enjoyed all of his work very much. Tom will be missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be offered on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 2PM, with visitation following from 3-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502. Interment private. Memorials in memory of Tom may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1650 South Ave., Suite 100, Rochester, NY 14620.
