Thomas J. Hamlin

Macedon – Tom passed away on December 8, 2022 at age 81.

Tom is survived by his wife, Lucille Hamlin; children, Mark Hamlin (Brenda), Karen Cline, Michael Hamlin (Barbara), Kristine Spinelli; grandchildren, Nicholas Hamlin, Samantha Cheshire (Kenyon), Cory Iddings, Taylor Spinelli, and Brady Polatas.

Tom spent 32 years working for the Xerox Corporation as a senior research and design engineer, in which he achieved over 70 patents.  All those close to Tom knew his true love and passion was flying.  Over the years, Tom obtained several licenses and ratings, which ranged from a private pilot, instrument, commercial, and multi-engine aircraft licenses.  On one occasion, Tom flew The Dave Matthews Band to their next gig.  On other occasions, Tom tracked his children from the air. If Tom wasn't home, he could be found at the airport working on his many planes. Tom also had a passion for collecting pens, aviator sunglasses, and baseball caps, primarily the Yankees.  All Tom's children will remember the universal Hamlin call, the hands-free piercing whistle.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 PM on Thursday, December 15 at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Rte. 31, Macedon, NY 14502.  Tom's memorial mass will be offered on Friday, December 16, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 52 W. Main St., Macedon, NY 14502.
