Rifenberg, Thomas E.          "Thom"

Palmyra:  Thomas E. Rifenberg, "Thom", of Elizabethtown, NY and formerly of Palmyra, NY passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the age of 74.  Thom was born on October 23, 1939 in Canandaigua, NY.  He was predeceased by his parents Irene and Bernard Rifenberg; wife, Noreen; and grandson Justin Rifenberg.  Thom is survived by his wife of twelve years Haliza; daughter, Kim Felton; sons, Chris (Amy), Tim Rifenberg, and Sam Rifenberg; grandchildren, Nathan , Ryan, Dylan and Nya; great grandchildren, Conner and Cailyn, along with other relatives and friends.

Thom was a 1958 graduate of Pal-Mac Central High School.  Thom retired to the Adirondack Mountains where he enjoyed  fishing and golfing.  Thom enjoyed giving of himself to help others; which allowed him to turn a vision into a reality through the creation of the Palmyra Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 3-6PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502 where a service to celebrate Thom's life will follow at 6PM.  Interment will be in the Spring at St. Anne's Cemetery, Palmyra, NY.  Memorials in memory of Thom may be directed to the Justin Rifenberg Memorial Scholarship Fund through Dollars for Scholars, 151 Hyde Pkwy, Palmyra, NY 14522.
