Virginia “Ginny” Pierce
Palmyra/Penfield
Virginia “Ginny” Pierce, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of her family. Ginny is survived by her daughter, Stacy (Michael) Menna; her son, James (Kathy, d. 2005) Pierce; her granddaughters, Kelly Menna and Emily Menna; her grandson, Rocco Menna; her brother, Al (Jeannette, d. 2025) Feltz; her nephews, Alan Feltz, Brian Feltz, and Greg (Dana) Atwood; her niece, Sue (Dave) Faso; and her cousin, Eileen White. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Lorraine (John) Atwood. Music was one of the great joys of Ginny’s life. She learned to play the piano and clarinet in her youth and music was very important to her. A faithful member of Penfield United Methodist Church, she joined the Chancel Choir in 1962 and was a Charter member of the handbell choir. In retirement, she continued to share her love of music through the Eastman School of Music’s New Horizons Band and Clarinet Choir. True to her spirit, Ginny requested that her Celebration of Life be “more concert than funeral.” Her life will be celebrated on October 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Penfield United Methodist Church, 1795 Baird Road, Penfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the music programs at Penfield United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com
