Winifred L. Scheik

Macedon: Friday October 10, 2014.  After a long, happy and blessed life, our beloved Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed into eternal rest at age 94.  With her family at her side, Winnie joined the Lord and her dearly loved husband, Richard who pre-deceased her in 2005.

Winnie is survived by her daughters, Karen (Ron) Morey of Whitney Point, NY and Elaine (William) Hassler of Palmyra, NY; grandchildren, Terri Van Bortel of Virginia Beach, Gary (Sandy) Van Bortel of Ontario, NY, Debra (Craig) Schmeer of Hilton, NY and Kerry (Matt) Stappenbeck of Marion, NY; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Shawn Morimando, Daniel and Katie Schmeer, Bryce and Bailey Stappenbeck, Jared and Kayla Van Bortel; nieces and a host of friends.

Winnie retired as Chief Telephone operator at Kodak in 1981.  She and Richard wintered in Florida for many years and enjoyed traveling.  In 2000, they moved to Parkwood Heights in Macedon.  Winnie will be dearly missed.

Calling hours will be observed on Tuesday (October 14) from 4-7 PM at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Rte. 31, Macedon, NY.  A celebration of Winnie's life will be held on Saturday (October 25) at 1 PM at Macedon Center United Methodist Church in Macedon Center.  Contributions may be directed to the Macedon Public Library or the Macedon Center United Methodist Church, in Winnie's memory.
