Albert William Neu

Walworth, NY passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 5, 2021 at age 57.

Albert was born to Albert G. and Maureen (Donnelly) Neu in Rochester, NY. He graduated from the Aquinas Institute in 1981 and St. Bonaventure University in 1985. In March 1990, he married his wife Donna (Vander Molen). Albert retired from PrimeSource Building Products in January after 20+ years of service and he greatly enjoyed his new-found free time.

Albert was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with friends, many of which he stayed in touch with over the years from high school and college. Albert was a sports fan, having played soccer and ice hockey while in high school and into his adult years through various men’s leagues. He enjoyed following the Buffalo Sabres, Rochester Americans, Buffalo Bills, and St. Bonaventure Bonnies Basketball. He loved sharing stories, wisdom, and laughs. Many will remember him by his love for Hawaiian shirts and the cartoon, Peanuts. A devout Catholic, his faith brought him comfort and peace throughout his life. Simple pleasures brought Albert great joy and he will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to his wife of 31 years, Albert is survived by two children, Sarah (Lance-Eric) Baker of Eldred, PA and Eric Neu of Lockport, NY; one grandson, Sawyer Baker; his five sisters, Patricia Neu, Sharon (Bill) Neu-Collins, Lisa Neu-Posadni, Mary Neu, and Deborah (Tim) Perry, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Homer and Gertrud Vander Molen; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; and many other close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Maureen.

Due to COVID-19, a private visitation will be held with immediate family. A Mass of Christian burial will take place for all that would like to attend on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church in Ontario, NY with the Rev. Anthony Amato presiding. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. If possible, please wear Al’s favorite color, yellow (or a Hawaiian shirt).

In Albert’s memory, a donation can be made in his name to Father Simon Jubilee School, which can be sent to St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church, PO Box 499, Ontario, NY 14519. To honor his love for service, the family requests doing a random act of kindness.
