Cory A. DeLorm
Ontario, New York - Cory Abram DeLorm passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2021 at the age of 46. Cory was born on January 19, 1975 at Meyers Community Hospital, Sodas, New York. He grew up playing in his grandmothers' garden full of tulips, white daisies, daffodils, and purple flowers and having fun running around with his little brother. He would climb the tree in the neighbor’s front yard and go to school with their kids and collect magic cards. Cory attended both Ontario Primary and Ontario Elementary Schools while a student of Wayne Central's class of 1993. As a teen, he loved spending his time at rock & roll music concerts, collecting pins and exploring his options, while still focusing on his work. Cory found his personal faith and practiced within Wiccan traditions and way of living.
At a young age, Cory developed a passion for carpentry and started building homes. He eventually became more independent with his own contracting business on the side and posted his services on a partnered website. He started his company in 1992, called CTP General Contracting, for commercial and residential construction services. He met Megyn Mimande in 1992 and became a loving and compassionate father to his only child, Heather Mimande-DeLorm in 1995. Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Cory and he did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.
Cory's admiration for his stepfather, John, inspired him to donate to the Paralyzed Veterans of America and earned a Certificate of Appreciation for all of his support! He also donated to St. Judes Children's Hospital. His love for animals kept him warm and he started donating to charities such as ASPCA and received an award from The Wildlife Protection Association. He was also a long-term sustainer of the WXXI charity. Cory DeLorm is predeceased by his parents, John E. Scoville and Elizabeth A. Scoville. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Mimande-DeLorm, previously reunited and still strong while entering the next phase of life; brother, Jason DeLorm; family and his truest friends.
A celebration of Cory's life will be held privately. The family wishes to thank his amazing neighbors, that looked after him until his last days as well as Murphy's Funeral Home.
