Macedon - Daniel L. Tousley, dedicated husband, father of two, and friend of many - passed away on November 10, 2022 at the age of 75.
Daniel was born October 22, 1947 in Penn Yan, NY. He was the 2nd of 5 children born to Harold and Elsie Tousley. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1965. Dan was blessed with 56 years of marriage to his high school sweetheart, Mary Lee, and together they raised their daughters, Wendy and Danielle.
Dan loved his family dearly and was a friend to all who knew him. He served in the Army reserve, and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Palmyra, NY. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent his working years primarily in water and utilities. He worked at Penn Yan Municipal, Blair Supply and New York Rural Water where he was a circuit rider. He retired from New York Rural Water in 2015.. Dan loved working on and repairing things and expressing his creativity in his woodshop. There was rarely a broken toy that Papa couldn’t fix!
Dan will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Mary Lee, daughters Wendy (Matt) Quance and Danielle (Chris) Choate. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Hannah Armstrong, Amanda Pavledakes, Emilee Smith, Caleb Choate, Malia Choate and Trinity Choate. He was blessed with 10 great grandchildren. He leaves behind his brothers Stephen and Mark Tousley, and his sister Sandra Banach along with many nieces and nephews.
Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Elsie Tousley, and his brother, Michael. Special thanks to the wonderful caring staff at The House of John and Ontario Yates Hospice for their compassionate care of not only Dan, but also his family and friends during his last days.
A graveside service for Daniel will be held on Thursday (November 17), 11 AM at Macedon Village Cemetery, Erie St., Macedon, NY 14502.
